Ten Steps to Planting a Tree
- Dig the hole 1 1/2 to 2 times the size of the rootball or container
- Remove the tree from container before planting.
- Set the rootball of the tree even with ground level; do not plant any deeper.
- Mix Back to Nature Compost half-and-half with the dirt you put back in around the rootball.
- Make a tree well with the remaining dirt from the hole.
- After the tree is covered apply Root Stimulator and water the tree in thoroughly by putting the hose in the bottom of the hole and filling it slowly until the dirt settles.
- Apply Root Stimulator once a month for the first year, dilution rate for Root Stimulator is 3 1/2 tablespoons per gallon of water Use 1 gallon of mixture for every 4 foot of height on large trees and/or shrubs.
- Water once every week to ten days during the winter or while the tree is dormant.
- As leaves appear in the spring increasing watering to 2 to 3 times a week
- Check trees often to be sure they are receiving the proper amount of water.
