Climbing Roses Modern climbing roses may be divided in to two general categories: Natural climbers and climbing types of bush roses. The most popular varieties of climbers are: Blaze, Don Juan, Joseph's Coat, Golden Showers, Iceberg, Queen Elizabeth and Peace. |

English Roses This is a rapidly expanding group of Hybrids. England's David Austin has bred various old roses with modern roses in order to capture the forms and fragrances of old roses in repeat-flowering plants that offer the color and range of modern Hybrids.

Floribundas Developed from Hybrid Teas and Polyanthas. Noted for producing quantities of flowers in clusters on vigorous and bushy plants. Plant and flower sizes are smaller than those of Hybrid Teas. These are plants for providing mass color. Use for informal hedges, low borders and barriers.

Grandifloras Vigorous plants, sometimes 8 to 10 feet tall, with Hybrid Tea-type flowers sometimes single flowers or in long stemmed clusters. Great for mass color effect.

Ground Cover Roses A number of European and American breeders are producing roses that spread their canes widely but build up to no more than 2 feet. Vigor, disease resistance, profusion of blooms is the hallmarks of these roses. The most popular variety that we carry is the "Flower Carpet" roses.

Hybrid Teas These are the most popular class of rose. Flowers are large and shapely, generally produced one to a stem on plants that range from 2 to 6 feet or more depending on the variety and climate.

Miniatures These are perfect replicas of modern Hybrid Teas and Floribundas but plant size is reduced to 12-18 inches with flowers and foliage in proportion. Miniatures are hardier than Hybrid Teas but still need winter protection in zones 1-3. Shallow roots need regular water, fertilizer and mulch.

Polyanthas This class appeared in the late 19th Century. Plants are vigorous and usually low growing, nearly ever blooming, and quite disease resistant. Flowers are small, usually about 2 inches across.
